Have you noticed something interesting lately? Many Google Business Profile owners are reporting that their dashboard suddenly shows ‘no reviews yet’ even though their live listing has reviews.
So, what does it mean? Well, it means you have not lost anything, not even a single review. Instead, what you are actually looking at is a display glitch. That’s why experts are suggesting that before applying a fix, check the public listing properly.
What Business Owners Are Seeing?
Since July 9, 2026, business owners on the Google Business Profile Community forum have started reporting this mismatch. The reply panel shows no reviews, while the listing right above it still displays the actual public count.
One widely shared example involved a profile with over 900 visible reviews on the live listing, yet the reply section behind it read empty.
However, Google has yet to explain what is happening, and what makes this even tougher is that not every profile is affected. It means diagnosing this issue from the outside is extremely difficult.
Two Different Problems That Look Identical
Interestingly, this isn’t the first review scare of the month, and the two issues are easy to confuse.
A Display Bug
In a display-related issue, your reviews still exist inside Google’s system. They simply aren’t rendering correctly in the management interface. It means the count is intact on the public side; only the internal panel is broken.
An Actual Removal
A removal is different. Reviews are taken down, often after Google’s spam or policy systems flag a profile, and the public count drops with them. That’s closer to what happened around July 3, when some profiles lost their entire review count and were temporarily blocked from collecting new ones. Google later confirmed the issue and said the reviews would return within a day or two.
How To Tell Which One You’re Dealing With?
Obviously, the question now is understanding what you are dealing with. For that, it is wise not to rely completely on the dashboard. Instead, open the business listing the way a customer would using Google Search or Maps and then compare the review count with the one displayed on the dashboard.
Now, if the public count has not changed, your issue is caused by a display bug, which will resolve on its own. However, if you see that the public count has changed, it may be a removal. In that case, you should document the discrepancy with screenshots and reach out to Business Profile support.
Why This Actually Matters?
Reviews are one of the clearest trust signals a local listing has. A prospective customer often chooses between two similar businesses based on nothing more than review count and star rating.
That’s why an empty dashboard can trigger real panic among owners who assume their reputation vanished overnight, even when nothing on the public side has moved.
What To Do In The Meantime?
Google hasn’t said when the dashboard display will return to normal. Until it does, check your live listing regularly, keep a dated record of your review counts for comparison, and hold off on any drastic account changes based on the dashboard alone. If discrepancies show up on the public listing itself, that’s the point to escalate.
